Following the recent announcement of Harriman being unable to attend the second season of the World Esports Games 4KINGS have been working hard to find a suitable replacement to fill the spot left by him. After many discussions with various players they have finally managed to achieve what many had guessed would happened. It seems now that the 4KINGS team will be a match for any of the top teams at WEG and the ESWC.
This player is one that everyone will recognise, from his times in the world's best teams over the past few years and after picking up several Player of the Year awards, it is of course Ola "elemeNt" Moum who is now in the 4Kings starting lineup. This means the lineup for 4Kings will be the following:
4K^Mangicapra
4K^aKuJii
4K^elemeNt
4K^GoodFella
4K^Red`
4K^Harriman (inactive)
This is what elemeNt had to say:
elemeNt: "4Kings is a top 5 ranked team in the World and as such has potential to achieve success. Having played against them in the previous season of WEG they proved they are more than capable of competing with the best and are now looking to build upon this and progress. It seemed like a natural step for me with the added advantage of a new challenge."
***Update*** SK managed to get an interview with Hotshot from 4K -
Since you're one of the new members in the royalty please introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Edward Harborne, I'm 22 years old and I live in the UK. I've previously played for different teams such as Choke, Xtra and Forsaken. Currently I'm the manager of the 4Kings CS division.
To get right to the point, why did you choose Element as your fifth?
Well Harriman made it clear he wasn't looking to compete in the upcoming WEG season for reasons of his own. Understandably we immediately began to look for a replacement and began looking at various players. elemeNt's name came up but at that time he was with mibr. When the news broke of his split with mibr, we approached him about his availability for the second season of WEG. Soon the question of his long term prospects came up, and with that in mind, we asked him to join 4Kings as a fulltime member of the team.
It was pretty clear that Element didn't like Korea and that he wouldn't have attended the tournament with NoA once again. Still here he is with 4Kings, preparing for the second season of the event. My question is, what did he think about your offer and about going to WEG again?
I think Ola is very badly misrepresented by a big part of the community. A lot of people don't understand the kind of pressures that players were under in that sort of environment. Whatever happened in the first season of WEG is in the past, Ola has been nothing but positive in his affirmation regarding attending WEG Season 2 and as far as we're concerned that enthusiasm will be used to drive the team all the way to first place.
So in other words you expect to win the WEG this time. Which would be your current team's strong points, that would help you carry out your purpose, aside from the strong enthusiasm?
Well I think we have everything you could look for in a team. With the addition of elemeNt we had three players nominated for the E3 allstars game, both elemeNt and Goodfella attended with Mangiacapra coming close on the pollings. Ola brings a good leadership angle to the team, and Goodfella together with Louis have been performing excellently on LAN in recent times with the Skolpojkarna mix team. Mangiacapra is one of the most consistent and thoughtful players in the world. akuJii is by far the most under appreciated member of the team by the community, he is both consistent and talented and was a key factor in our prior success.
What can we expect from 4K after the WEG event?
Well we are attending our ESWC UK Qualifier next week in Oxford, and hopefully that will provide us with our place in the finals in France in July. Hopefully the current trend of 1.6 replacing Source in competitions will continue and this lineup will become stronger with every event it attends.
Will you be keeping the current lineup for the other events as well or you'll also include Harriman into a six men rotation structure?
Currently the plan is to use the WEG lineup for the current calendar of upcoming events.
